Regarding the question of "when to take a Yangtze River cruise", the best time for Yangtze cruise is spring and autumn. To put it more specific, it is April, May, September and October, when the weather along Yangtze River is pleasant and cool. Of course, the best time correspondingly becomes the high season and the price is much higher. Check out more detailed information about Yangtze weather.

The biggest difference is downstream takes less time. Usually there are only a few minor differences for shore excursion programs between ships of the same company and most ships will have exactly the same programs for both downstream and upstream cruises.

For the cruise itineraries on our website, the cruise fare includes accommodations on twin sharing-basis, daily meals and shore excursion programs. It excludes personal expenses, like laundry, phone calls, internet etc.

We suggest that you bring a light jacket, jeans, T- shirts and lightweight windbreaker if you are planning to commence your cruise during spring or autumn. A light sweater is handy for cooler days. Do not forget to bring comfortable walking shoes/ sandals/ sneakers.

The average temperature reaches 30 C (86F) in July and 10 C (50 F) in January. Spring and autumn are therefore the best seasons for taking the river cruises. The ships do not assign cabins in advance. You may require a specific cabin on check-in in a similar way to airline check in, however cabin allocation is at the discretion of the ship operators.

Credit cards or on-board signature accounts are two alternatives used instead of cash on ship. You can pay by your credit cards or sign your list and pay them when you check out just like what you do in most of China's hotels. Major credit cards acceptable include Visa and Master Cards, etc.
